Visiting Jamestown

After Christina and Jeff's wedding we went on Sunday to visit Jamestown. It being the 400th Anniversary and the Queen visiting this year, everything is set up so nicely. The story of Jamestown is quite interesting and it's still an active archaeological dig site. This is the actual site of the first fort set up by the English settlers. (I am not sure I have that worded correctly, but you get the point.)

Pocahontas statue (turns out she looked nothing like this, especially after she had married one of the English settlers and went over to England)

Jon carried Caed in our little backpack thing...

Part of the active site- we were there on Sunday so there was no digging while we were there..)
This is the church that has been built on this site for a long time. The most original part is this tower section that you see here.
They were able to locate where the exact location of the original walls were of the fort- so it's been rebuilt-
