In the spring or summer time I suggest taking Caed to Strasburg, PA near Lancaster. They have an old train you can ride. If you take a picnic lunch you can get off at the playground on the way back, have lunch and then hop the train back to the station. Or you can just stop off so he can play for a while.
I took both my boys there when they were younger and they loved it. Also there is a diner made from an old railroad car you can eat in. The car sways and makes noise like it is moving down the track.
If you want to stay overnight there is a motel made from converted cabooses. He might be a little young for the motel, but he would probably like the train. I pray you are all well. Have a good trip to FL. God Bless.
